Two brothers founded PTK Oriental Rug Center in Milburn, NJ, in 1974, at a time when Oriental rugs were not as popular as today. Two more relatives joined, and we created our business name by combining the initials of our last names.

After years of hard work and business loyalty, we changed our name to PTK for “Promises to Keep,” inspired by a Robert Frost poem. The poem is reminiscent of how we began with a goal and built our business strong through loyalty and honesty. Our top priority is to offer the best selection at the lowest price.

Today, with several locations in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey, we offer the largest selection of Oriental rugs at the lowest prices. We are one of the few Oriental rug chain stores. We can keep our promise of providing the lowest prices and the largest selection because of our process.

Our products are sought, checked, handpicked, and purchased by Tom Kashi and the other members of the PTK corporation. We function as a wholesale operation. We eliminate the middleman by traveling to Asia for the finest quality for the best bargain, which dramatically lowers the prices we can offer to customers compared to retailers.

Our wholesale operation deals in a high volume or quantitative method. As in any business transaction, buying in large quantities offers better prices. The less we pay, the less our customers pay.

We also supply our Oriental rugs to department stores and exclusive retailers in the United States. We travel to China, Iran, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Nepal, and Tibet.
